Alison graduated from the University of Sydney. She is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) and a member of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
Alison has worked as a speech pathologist on the Central Coast for over 20 years providing quality speech pathology services. She has worked in a variety of settings including early intervention, disability, preschools and children’s centres, schools, local government and local health services. Alison is experienced in treating children presenting with delays and disorders in a variety of areas including developmental delays, autism, dyspraxia, eating and drinking, chromosomal disorders, cleft palate and physical disability.
Alison has a particular interest in working with young children and their families. She strives to make therapy fun and interesting and to support families to achieve their goals for their child. Alison has a family centred focus which recognises the importance of the family in their child’s therapy and values the family’s skills and knowledge when working with their child.
Alison uses evidence based practices and continues to develop and update her skills and knowledge through professional development, workshops and courses. She is trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding, ‘It Takes Two to Talk’ a Hanen Centre program, Key Word Signing, A View From the Floor Introductory DIR/Floortime Training and ‘How Does Your Engine Run?’ The Alert Program for Self Regulation.
